UNH sorority to host fifth annual child abuse prevention fundraiser
By Nicole Anderson
ELIOT – On Sat March 5, the University of New Hampshire’s Alpha Sigma Chapter of the Kappa Delta Sorority will host its fifth annual ‘Dinner & Auction for Child Abuse Prevention.’
The event will take place at The Regatta Room in Eliot, Maine from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be a pre-event cocktail party from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
For the fifth year in a row, the sisters of Kappa Delta are hosting the dinner and auction to fundraise for NH Children’s Trust and Prevent Child Abuse America. 140 sorority sisters have worked to plan every detail of the event, from gathering donations and sponsors to securing the venue and providing entertainment.
The auction will showcase unique items as well as date night and vacation rental opportunities.
Last year, Kappa Delta sisters raised nearly $25,000, which was their most successful year to-date.
The NH Children’s Trust board of directors and staff invite guests to attend the pre-auction cocktail party. There will be a cash bar, and the chance to inquire about the agency and the fundraiser.
Online early bird admission to the event is available for $40 until Feb. 1. Tickets purchased after the first of the month will be $45 per person, and tables of eight can be reserved for $320. Kappa Delta alumnae tickets are $40. Tickets can be purchased online at: nhchildrenstrust.org/auction16.
Prior to the event, donations can also be made on NH Children Trust’s website.
The admission price includes a buffet dinner consisting of a mixed greens salad, stuffed sole Veronique, chicken Picatta, sliced hanger steak au Poivre, Italian styled zucchini and summer squash, and potato au gratin. A hot fudge sundae will also be provided for dessert.
If you would like to donate an item, vacation rental, or a gift certificate, please contact the staff at NH Children’s Trust at email@example.com.
