This fall, New Hampshire Children’s Trust will award the Lucy Fowlkes Breed Family Service Volunteer Award. Candidates will have volunteered in direct service to families at a New Hampshire nonprofit which serves children or families. Volunteer work must have been done within the past two years. A celebration will take place and monetary award will be presented.
Lucy Fowlkes Breed was a long-time volunteer, founding and dedicating over twenty years as the facilitator of the New Parents Support Group at the Children's Place and Parent Education Center in Concord. Lucy also served as a founding trustee on the board of New Hampshire Children's Trust, dedicating fourteen years as a board member, eight of those years as board chair. Upon her retirement, New Hampshire Children's Trust set up the Lucy Fowlkes Breed Legacy Fund and created this award in her honor.
