Signing of Executive Order on Early Childhood Care and Education

Updated: Mar 2, 2020

From the Office of the Governor Chris Sununu:

Today, Governor Chirs Sununu held a press conference and signed an Executive Order with officials from the New Hampshire Department of Education, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, members from the University System of New Hampshire, and Early Childhood Development Stakeholders to unveil and launch a new design and approach to early childhood care and education in New Hampshire.

In 2011, then-Governor John Lynch implemented by executive order a collaborative of volunteers, private organizations, and public institution partners to craft and vision and strategy for early childhood care and education in New Hampshire. Establishment of this new governance structure—the Council for Thriving Children—is through Executive Order 2020-3 by Governor Sununu on January 23, 2020.

Thank you, Governor Sununu, for your dedicated work in service of New Hampshire children and families!

The NH Children's Trust is considered an Early Childhood Care & Education Expert and will serve in an advisory role to the Council. Learn more about the New Hampshire Council for Thriving Children and read the governance structure overview:
