OVERVIEW
The Director of Programs plays a crucial role in the strategic development of an ecosystem of primary prevention in NH by ensuring program compliance across multiple funding streams at New Hampshire Children’s Trust. This includes taking a leadership role in community engagement and ensuring the inclusion of family voice in all aspects of NHCT's work. This position helps to collaboratively shape content for NHCT’s Annual Summit and other training and program events. This role also collaborates with other NHCT departments to create publications and reports that demonstrate organizational impact and outcomes, develop systems and processes that support statewide marketing and public awareness efforts, and create innovative ways to share state and national data to engage families, policy makers, and funders. The Director of Programs reports to the President.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ecosystem of Primary Prevention Building
• Provide leadership and oversight for NHCT’s programs/initiatives and supervises program staff related to CBCAP, Fatherhood FORGE, and other federal or state funded initiatives.
• Collaborate with the President and Programs Team to launch new Fatherhood FORGE Grant, refine CBCAP grant activities, and seek additional federal grant funding opportunities.
• Spearhead the annual federal grants application and reporting process.
• Lead engagements with Federal Program Officers and Training and Technical Assistance Centers associated with NHCT federal grant awards.
• With NHCT staff and Board of Directors, support the development and monitor progress of the Adaptive Strategic Plan.
• Identify allies and cultivate partnerships that advance common goals around family strengthening and prevention supports.
• Lead or support NHCT external training, community listening sessions, and panels
• Participate in prevention related workgroups, coalitions, and meetings as assigned by the President.
Programmatic & Strategic Initiatives
• Ensure the development and execution of an annual workplan, including budget creation and management, in collaboration with NHCT’s Senior Finance Director.
• Supervise program staff and volunteers.
• Contribute to agency strategy, representing the programmatic needs and requirements.
• Assess statewide child and family support professional development needs and develops comprehensive community outreach and training plans -including revenue producing opportunities
• Represent NHCT at national conferences as assigned by the President. Prepare written materials in collaboration with the NHCT leadership team including action alerts, talking points, issue briefs, annual reports, op-eds and website updates.
• Assume a collaborative leadership role on annual event planning and implementation committees including the Annual Strengthening Families Summit and Unsung Hero Awards.

COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred, in psychology, education, human services, family studies, child development, social work, or related field.
• 5 years program management and staff supervision experience.
• Federal grant administration and grant writing/reporting experience.
• Considerable knowledge of program development, delivery, training and technical assistance strategies and evaluation.
• Deep knowledge of and passion for child and adult development, and community resources for children and families.
• Experience working with families in NH’s child and family serving ecosystem.
• Knowledge of presenter selection and contracting.
• Ability to analyze evaluation data and make program improvements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and a willingness and aptitude to learn other technology required to fulfill job responsibilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Skilled facilitator and trainer of community groups, stakeholders, and decision-makers
• Able to work independently and in collaboration with others.
• Self-motivated, well organized, punctual, and flexible.
• Reliable transportation, auto insurance, and a willingness to travel around the state.
• Able to transport and use equipment and supplies.
