Listening First: NH Children's Trust Hosts Two Conversations on Supporting Fathers

Understanding what dads and the people who serve them actually need starts with listening. That's exactly what New Hampshire Children's Trust set out to do with two community listening sessions held Tuesday August 11th at Community Action Partnership of Hillsborough and Rockingham Counties (CAPHR) located at

40 Pine St, Manchester, NH.

The first session brought together family and child-serving professionals from across the state for a conversation about what it takes to better support fathers and father figures in their work. The second session opened the floor to NH fathers and father figures themselves, inviting them to share their own experiences raising and caring for children in the Granite State.

NHCT Staff, Ryan Mahoney, Rachel Tisevich, Jen Paveglio, and Krisha Dubreuil hosted both sessions. Lara Quiroga of Larksparre Consulting facilitated open, honest conversations that will directly shape how NHCT builds out Empowering Fathers Across New Hampshire, the organization's free, statewide fatherhood program launching this fall.

These conversations reflect something NHCT believes deeply: the best programs are built with the people they're meant to serve, not just for them. Every insight shared in these rooms, from providers on the front lines and from dads living the experience firsthand, will help shape a stronger, more responsive Empowering Fathers Across New Hampshire when it launches this fall.

A sincere thank-you to our partners at CAPHR and everyone who showed up, spoke honestly, and gave their time to help build something better for NH families.
