The New Hampshire Children’s Trust’s 4th Annual 100-mile Ride for Resilience took place on September 13, 2024, through the White Mountains and North Country regions. In partnership with New Hampshire’s Network of Family Resource Centers, the Ride focuses on highlighting family strength in the Granite State and raising awareness of the many ways the NH Network of Family Resource Centers helps foster individual, family, and community resilience.
Founded by NH Children’s Trust Board Chair Mark Knights, the Ride for Resilience connects Family Resource Centers (FRCs) across the state, with participants cycling from one FRC to another to spotlight their important role in the community. Riders also participate in a fundraising challenge, raising money to support the essential work of Family Resource Centers throughout New Hampshire. Mark states “Resilience is the ability to, when faced with challenges, prevail in the face of those challenges – to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going.”
Knights, Children’s Trust Senior Advancement Director Nathan Fink, and 12 other riders, c
ycled 102 miles from the Family Connections Resource Center at Children Unlimited in Conway, north over Pinkham Notch to the Family Resource Center of Northern NH in Gorham. The riders looped back through Crawford Notch to Conway for a celebratory gathering. The Ride has raised over $40,000 and will continue fundraising through October 11th.
